A former Principal Trumpet of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and active jazz, Latin and New Age performer, Joshua’s 21 years of experience as a professional trumpet performer and educator has qualified him to teach trumpet at all levels and in many styles. Some of the topics that can be covered in Elite Trumpet Instruction include:
1. All trumpet playing fundamentals for improvement of tone quality, technique, articulation, flexibility, endurance, range development and dynamic control.
2. Classical trumpet instruction of solo and orchestral style and repertoire.
3. Improvisation in many styles, including jazz, classical improvisation, Latin and others.
4. Commercial music trumpet style, technique and phrasing.
5. Performance psychology, audition preparation, overcoming performance anxiety to succeed under pressure.
6. Ensemble playing including chamber music, playing in bands and jamming without written music.
