Fenix Festival for Peace 2020!

A New Years Day mini-music festival with original music, sound healing and a final group jam

On January 1, 2020, please join us at the Fenix Festival for Peace 2020, on beautiful peaceful Lamma Island, Hong Kong. At the wonderful and intimate community venue of the Lamma Art Collective we present a day of positive messages of peace through music, dance, sound healing and a final group jam, with the intention of spreading peace, togetherness and love in the New Year.

Fenix Festival features some of Hong Kong’s best and most loved musicians and healing talent, who will put their talent and energy into creating vibrations of peace and harmony for 8 hours on Wednesday, January 1 from 12-8 PM at the Lamma Art Collective on Main Street, Yung Shue Wan. Join us all day or come and go as you please for the cost of one low-cost ticket!

About the Artists:

12:00 Sasha Handpan and Farley Sangels (handpan and sound healing)

Lamma based handpan artist, meditator and healer Sasha teams up with Lamma Studios double-bassist Farley to set the intention and the energy for the festival.

Handpan is a new age instrument that combines rhythm, melody and harmony at the same time. The emotional and soft sound of this instrument fills the space and creates a harmonious atmosphere, which relaxes people. Joined with the deep tones of the double bass, Sasha and Farley create a safe and high vibration for love to take seed and grow.

12:30 Clara Chung (sound healing)

Clara is a Vocal Sound Healer, Light Language Facilitator and she has been working as a Holistic Coach for more than 15 years . She has been in India for many times for self practice and realization and her aspiration is to support others to have a balance, healthy and happy life and to align with their inner love and self empowerment.

SOS combines the unparalleled musicianship of Farley and Ola, ancient music healing techniques and instruments, and modern electronic musical sounds and tools.

Formed in 2016, One Love is a Hong Kong based contemporary and New Age music collective. With members coming from many cultures and bringing a vast and diverse set of musical languages and life experiences to the music, One Love intends to uplift, inspire and transform the world with the power of vibration.

4:30 Tjoe Man Cheung (solo guitar)

guitarist and composer Tjoe Man Cheung is a visionary artist who is gathering an international reputation for the freshness and originality of his compositions, inspired and energetic guitar playing and sure-handed bandleading. As a core member of the Lamma Studios artist roster, Tjoe brings a special flavor to our studio’s artistic offerings.

Tjoe is a Musicians Institute alumnus and a favoured sideman in the Hong Kong Pop scene, a talented Jazz & Blues guitarist and an inspired arranger and composer. Currently the official artist of Melancon, Tjoe is recognised by his creative approach, powerful soloing, unique improvisation and a splash of humour on stage.

From 2015 to 2016, Tjoe moved to London to expand his musical territory. He could often be found plying his trade at top venues like Ronnie Scott’s, Southbank Centre and Rich Mix.

Apart from active involvement in various bands and music projects, the young musician has also initiated his own project, NTBM (“Not-To-Be-Missed”), an original jazz collective featuring Tjoe’s original compositions, featuring irregular emerging musicians from around the world. The group aspires to compose original jazz tunes and perform globally. The band impressed the audiences in gigs organised by Sofar Sounds London and Hong Kong, Jazz In The Present Tense and various venues.

5:00 SOS Electronic Duo featuring Jessica Cheung (electro-shamanic live looping with interpretive dance.

SoS combines the unparalleled musicianship of Farley and Ola, ancient music healing techniques and instruments, and modern electronic musical sounds and tools for a unique electroshamanic dance experience. With guest dancer Jessica Cheung for a multi-sensory experience.

6:00 Sybil Thomas (soulful soul)

Sybil Thomas was born to sing. She has been singing since she was five years of age. Her first big break came in the early 70’s when she toured Italy with the distinguished group, The Platters, as the only female singer. Sybil is from a line of music royalty that cannot be matched. As the daughter of the legendary Rufus Thomas, the Stax Records recording artist, who was a famous disc jockey from the WDIA radio in Memphis Tennessee, known for “The Memphis Sound”, and the sister of Carla Thomas; she is bound for greatness.

6:30 Cafe 852 (gypsy tango) – Café 852 is Hong Kong’s most accomplished gypsy/tango/Balkan music ensemble with appearances all around the region. For more on Cafe 852 please visit:

Join local legend Nate Wong as he leads the whole group of musicians and audience in a group performace jam of “Amazing Grace” in C Major, for a final feel-good close to the festival.
