Lamma Studios’ resident artist Soujit Guitar is one of Hong Kong’s most valuable and versatile musical collaborators. With a wide range of musical skills, a huge repertoire spanning many genres, beautiful classical guitar tone and touch and impeccable phrasing shaped by many years of study, practice and performance with top artists, Soujit is an indispensable asset to Lamma Studios and the Hong Kong musical community at large.
Of British-Indian origin, Soujit has been a lifelong musician. He began playing music at a young age, perfecting his technical skills on classical guitar under the ABRSM in London. He then spent time living in Spain, studying Flamenco Guitar in Seville and Granada with the old Spanish masters as well as tracing his roots to India to study Indian classical music. After years of experience performing on stages, studios and events in Europe, Asia and the world, Soujit has established himself as the most versatile guitarist in the Hong Kong live musical community.
In addition to his solo guitar performances, Soujit regularly collaborates with Hong Kong’s top musicians in recordings and live performances of classical, Flamenco, tango, gypsy, jazz, Latin, acoustic rock and pop music. He is the guitarist and founding member of Lamma Studios’ flagship ensemble Café 852, a founding member of acoustic funk band Acoufunkture and performs regularly with world music ensemble ReOrientate. He has also performed on Korean National TV, and was the solo musician for the production of Flamenco Carmen with the Korea Flamenco Association at the National Theatre of Korea.
